NATURAL PIGMENT

  I create art with natural pigments knowing the impermanence of the cycle, many fugitive colors carry within them the potential for change, others are as solid as rocks. I connect with the artists of yesteryear and produce my own pigment. I walk along paths, picking leaves, bark, flowers and the earth.

  In the next step I prepare the raw materials to become watercolor paints, lacquer pigment, acrylic, pastel chalk. I welcome mistakes and celebrate successes. I distil my own story respecting the timing of each thing.  I retrieve ancestral knowledge and move on.
